Expanding into an industrial environment creates a sense of edginess for an art gallery – but one in which light must serve to reveal art beautifully and without creating visual noise.

Two simple runs of track are visually coordinated with the HVAC intervention and form the sole visible equipment in the space – yet concealed lighting in the light monitor, concealed on walls, and discretely within pockets in the ceiling ensure a bright, alert environment that feels warm and soft, but features the art.

Controlling the number of visible interventions allows the building and the art to have a dialog uncluttered with visual noise.

Award winning art display is hard – how do you achieve something while not being something?

Artwork lighting is not about drama or a statement – it’s about revealing the work of an artist as they would have hoped.
