A favorite project of Lux Populi, this Walker Workshop residence brings together rich modernist architecture with sumptuous, crafted interiors by Jamie Bush + Co within a warm, elegant space. The lighting is driven largely by basic technique, warm dimming LED accent and wallwash lights brings life to vertical surfaces and feature areas, and recedes to allow the art and beautiful objects of the space sing.

Drawing the eye out to the exterior dissolves the glass façade and engages the residents with the gardens and the view through the valley to the Pacific beyond.

Careful management of the tonalities of light enhances wood and landscape finishes, whether softly and evenly as in much of the interior or with raking light bringing out the texture of the exterior façade. Light dappled through the trees sets off the motor court and family lawn.

An icon of design, this project brings together the mastery of architecture, interiors, landscape and the curation of art in a crafted lit environment.
