Developing a new airline lounge concept is effectively a rebrand for an airline. Moving from the café-lounge paradigm, this client was open to moving to a higher spec, moodier/classier environment (though on the same budget!), but required support to work through design implications. Wellness principles and richer material palettes were key new goals. Overall the goal is to have the most desirable lounges to encourage frequent-flier membership and credit card aquisition for access.
Creating different characters of light between lounges, dining areas, chillout spaces, phone booths and business centers, gives customers the opportunity to select their preferred lighting and furniture environment. The emphasis on classier experiences communicates exclusivity and elegance.
