Perhaps one of the most fun projects of the past few years, Distrito is a young, hip but high class restaurant in Philadelphia, with contemporary Mexico City cuisine (the Distrito of the name) and a theme full of rich Mexican colors, references to Mexican Luchador wrestlers and vibrant open dining experience. Designed by Creme Design, the project brings international chic, whilst consciously aware of the lighting methods used in Mexico City. The detailing of the project reveals itself softly, a joke on the integration style of Mexico City lighting. Saturated colors play in the light of various source types and enhance the traditional Mexican materials used with new modern zing.
